Basic Business Network Management

Learn the basics about Domains and Active Directory. Explore the world of TCP/IP. Set up your own domain and learn to create users, change passwords, create shares and login scripts that automatically connect users to the proper network folders when they log on. Learn all this and more

 

Basic PC Maintenance

Top of List

Class lessons will include using the built-in maintenance utilities and installation of virus software and Spyware prevention and removal tools. In addition there will be a lesson on backing up important files in case of any unforeseen problems and creating an Emergency Recovery Disk (ERD).

 

Home Networking

Top of List

Learn to set up and configure a home network with 2 or more PCs to allow sharing of the Internet, printers and other external hardware. Learn what hardware and tools are needed to accomplish tasks and how to resolve issues with connectivity and configuration. One hour of free onsite assistance and unlimited phone calls for 14 days beyond the end of the last class are included in tuition. This 4-week class will involve removing and adding hardware to a PC. There is a $40 material fee (wireless extra) for the parts to connect two PCs (a 10 % discount from the regular price). Hardware for additional PCs can be purchased through the instructor or any other dealer.

 

Microsoft Internet Explorer/Outlook Express E-mail

Introduction - This class gives an overview of the overall capabilities of the program and addresses design of miniature database applications. Learn how to create, save, modify, and print Tables, Forms, Queries, Reports and Switchboards in Microsoft Access.

 

Microsoft Excel

These users rely on Excel to access, process, analyze, share, and display the information with which they run their business. At the same time, Excel use is no longer relegated just to the accounting and finance departments. Everyday users need to access, analyze, create, and navigate through important data.

 

Introduction- Learn the toolbars, screens, entering basic text, formulas and functions in Excel. Create charts of your work. Become proficient at sorting and filtering your data. Understand Excel's contribution to mail merge in Word.

 

Intermediate - This class is designed for more experienced Excel users. Highlights of this class include correcting formula mistakes, formatting your spreadsheet, freezing panes, hide/unhide column & rows and modifying charts

 

Advanced - Further your Excel knowledge by learning how to link worksheets and workbooks together. Use linking to create formulas that refer to numbers or formula results in other workbooks and/or worksheets. Learn more about the track changes and tracing options.

Learn the full capability of this mail, scheduling and organization application. You’ll work more efficiently by organizing your tasks on your computer.

 

Outlook E-mail (vs. Outlook Express) - Understand how electronic mail works and learn how to use this extensive e-mail software package. Learn the differences between Outlook E-mail and Outlook Express.

Outlook Contacts: Enter in contact information. Learn the function and proper use of contact categories and the integration with Word’s mail merge feature.

Outlook Tasks & Journal: Keep track of your projects and deadlines using these application features. Track calls and project work for billing purposes. Use the journal to track work on office documents.

Outlook Calendar: Set your schedule up in this calendar application. Learn how to enter appointments, set reminders, and more.
